Established in 1976, Galax Grayson EMS (GG EMS) is the oldest professional Emergency Medical Service, (EMS), provider in the Twin County Area. GG EMS currently utilizes four ambulances and one quick response vehicle, staffed by Advanced Life Support, (ALS), certified providers either EMT Paramedic's or Intermediate's. GG EMS provides first response to all 911 emergencies in The City of Galax. GG EMS provides ALS support and 911 backup to Grayson County Volunteer Rescue Squads. Other services offered include ALS Critical Care hospital to hospital transports to medical facilities in the Mid Atlantic region. GG EMS provides extensive continuing education programs for staff and EMS related educational opportunities to the public, utilizing our in house training facilities.
